This client wanted the entire lot of their new home sodded and a horse shoe gravel driveway installed. The driveway was made using slag stone instead of limestone. Having a slag driveway instead of limestone can help home owners save on cost but does lack in its ability to compact. Limestone is should be used when compaction is important. Compacting the material not only helps smooth out the area but also prevents excessive wash outs during hard rains. With that said, slag is not a bad option by any means. Slag makes for a good driveway material but will require a bit more maintenance over time than a limestone driveway. - Limestone Driveway
